Rob has kindly given permission for me to post some of his shots, as he has more zoom on his camera and was able to get better pictures of the shags and oystercatchers.
We both thought the young bird looked as if he was saying "Boo!" :-)
But then we're daft.
A nice collection of birds. We could probably have got closer to them - they didn't seem to mind us being there at all - but there was a layer of damp seaweed between us and them and we didn't fancy falling over and damaging ourselves or the cameras.
Shag taking off - I love the way Rob caught the trail behind the bird.
More coos! No fence between us and this one - luckily she was friendly :-)
And another shot of the baby one, because he's adorable.
And finally,
edith_jones , brave woman that she is, asked for a picture of me, which should remind us all to be careful what you ask for - you might get it :-)
If I look a tad grumpy in the picture, bear in mind that I'd just walked about four kilometres uphill on fairly steep and gravelly tracks and the wind was blowing right through me :-)
