Driving over Swarkestone Causeway this morning made me realise why it had been built in the first place - the fields to either side were more like lakes. The Trent has burst its banks quite decisively and it's been raining again today. I feel sorry for the folk who live on the riverbanks.
In slightly less damp news, I started knitting my cardigan today. The main colour is lavenderish with the contrasting mohair in a mix of fuchsia, turquoise and navy blue. There may be pictures when it's done, but that may take a while, as I'm not the world's fastest knitter.
Saw the first half of the new Torchwood episode tonight and then the Apple TV did its nasty little trick of de-synching sound and picture. Of all the things to do that to. And I'd already deleted the original recording to save disc space so we couldn't try re-encoding it. Thank goodness for repeats :-)
