Winter appears to have returned with a vengeance. Frost every morning so far this week. Today wasn't as foggy as the last two mornings. but there was a blanket of fog hanging over the heavily frosted fields at Swarkestone.
It reminded me of when we lived near Hull and went into town on the train one day when there was a similar fog bank on the Humber, obscuring the lower half of the Humber Bridge. It gave the illusion that this huge concrete and steel bridge was floating in mid air, quite spectacular. Sadly, neither of us had a camera at the time, although realistically we probably wouldn't have managed a very good picture from inside a moving train in any case.
This was Monday's sunrise, taken from the swimming pool car park. I don't think it really caught the lovely blood-red colour of the sun, but I'm rather pleased with the tree :-
