I think I had a whinge some time ago about those charity bags that get put through the letterbox on a regular basis - we seem to get at least one a week here.

But it so happened that Rob had a sort out of his wardrobe and turned out a load of stuff he no longer wears. And since we had one of the bags through the door that day, we filled it up with these clothes and put it out on the appointed day, which was yesterday.

And it wasn't collected.

What a waste of time, effort and resources.

Meanwhile, back in the present, I went swimming this morning for the first time in ages. I thought I'd be slow and feeble from lack of practice, but while, I'll never be super-speedy, I didn't feel nearly as feak and weeble as I expected and trundled through half a mile without noticeable discomfort. It was good to get back in the water again :-)

Sad to see though that many of the new benches in the changing room have already been broken (new ones were installed last year) and they're still making the cleaners wash the floor of the changing room using the fire hose. I suppose at least they know the bloody thing works, but I'm sure Health and Safety would have a conniption fit if they knew.

And the poster telling us that the council has committed to a decreased carbon footprint had an apostrophe in a possessive "its" which always makes me want to hit things.

It was a watery day outside too, so the rest of it was spent doing indoor things, including making brownies and lasagne.
