The hill is called Thorpe Cloud and according to wiki it's a Reef Knoll (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reef_knoll) :-
"A reef knoll is an immense pile of calcareous material on land that accumulated on the ancient sea floor. At the time of its accumulation it must have had enough structure from organisms such as sponges to have been free-standing and to withstand the sea currents as material accumulated, and was likely an atoll. Such structures are thus often fossil-rich."
I've not been round to the far side of it, but Rob has and he says it's a giant cliff :-)
Share is a lovely capture!
Thanks - but it was perhaps cheating a bit, since it was a circuit race and I had plenty of warning of their approach :-)
Don Estelle. What a lovely voice on so small a stature.
I bumped into Windsor Davies once (literally - *oof*) at a football match. He was very tall, offhand, rude, seemed incapable of even considering that the encounter might not have been all my own fault. I went off him after that.

Dats der bunny! His name temporarily escaped me, as such things tend to do :-)
Sorry to hear that Mr Davies wasn't very nice to you. sadly, some people just aren't nice at all, although to be charitable perhaps he was having an off day.

I had several potential shots for square but wasn't really happy with any of them, and then I saw Thorpe Cloud :-)
