Got down to the allotment today and got some work done. I rotovated more of the area in front of the apple trees and planted out four more cauliflower plants under a second cloche. I need to bring more of the correx sheets up to the house and make holes in them with the soldering iron so that I can fasten them together in pairs with zip ties to make more cloches.
I also planted some broad bean seeds, which I hope will be more successful than last year's...
I started clearing the bed where I grew carrots this year and found a last couple of them lurking in the weeds, so those have gone into Rob's lunch box for tomorrow. Did I mention that the Experimental Greenhouse Carrots have germinated nicely? So far so good!
I also took the opportunity to take a few more practice shots with the new camera :-
Raindrops on a blade of grass.
Fallen damsons - I liked the contrast of the glaucous blue of the fruit with the yellow leaves.
Nasturtium, scoffing boldly at the frost which has laid most of its fellows low.
The old plum tree, framed by the bean poles.
