I've been scanning a load more old photos lately, so there may be a bit of a nostalgia-fest :)

To start, some pictures from about 12-15 years ago, when we lived in the village of Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton.

It was a bit cold today, although not too bad for November really and the sun was out, so it could have been a lot worse.

BUT! :)

Salem is much better, putting weight on his poorly leg and generally seeming much happier in himself.

AND! Rob has sold a print of one of his photographs! Hurray!

I was helping Rob with the tracking* on his trike this afternoon and I noticed the light was rather nice on the chimneys of the houses on the street in front of ours, so I dashed in and fetched my camera and took a few pictures.

I'm really quite pleased with the shapes, colours and angles of this one - perhaps I'm being a bit pretentious, but it reminds me a bit of a big ocean liner :-

Got down to the allotment today and got some work done. I rotovated more of the area in front of the apple trees and planted out four more cauliflower plants under a second cloche. I need to bring more of the correx sheets up to the house and make holes in them with the soldering iron so that I can fasten them together in pairs with zip ties to make more cloches.

I also planted some broad bean seeds, which I hope will be more successful than last year's...

I started clearing the bed where I grew carrots this year and found a last couple of them lurking in the weeds, so those have gone into Rob's lunch box for tomorrow. Did I mention that the Experimental Greenhouse Carrots have germinated nicely? So far so good!

I also took the opportunity to take a few more practice shots with the new camera :-

I've taken a couple of insect pictures recently that I'm quite pleased with, but haven't had a sensible excuse to post them, so I decided to post them without one :-)

There are three pictures under the cut, the last of which is a spider, so atrachnophobes be warned!

This is the picture that Rob sold a copy of at the Festival :- Highland Lady

He had to creep up realy close to her to get this shot and I was rather concerned that he might get stompled! But fortunately she was very well-mannered and placid and he escaped with skin and camera both intact :-)

We always enjoy the Melbourne Festival, but this year was a bit special, because it was Rob's first year as an exhibitor.

He put eight photos (printed on canvas) into the Open Exhibition and to our great delight, he sold one! It was a very nice shot of a Hielan' Coo taken on our last holiday to Mull. It's not on his website yet, so I can't post a link, but I shall be rectifying that later in the week!

He's exhibiting eight pictures, but only has 6 of them online. I shall nag him about this later, but he has been a bit busy lately...

This evening we took eight canvas prints of Rob's photos down to the Leisure Centre to be exhibited as part of the Melbourne Festival this weekend. With any luck we will be collecting less than eight on Sunday, because people will have bought at least one!
