5th in this series. The stories seem to be growing increasingly dark, despite the wisecracking humour.

This time the decision to leave the Remnant in the custody of the Necromancers proves to have been a bad one when it escapes and frees its brethren from the Midnight Hotel. Skulduggery and co must stop them from causing chaos and destruction. Meanwhile Valkyrie needs to prevent the visions of Darquesse destroying the world from coming true. All of which is complicated by the fact that the Remnants see Darquesse as their Saviour.
Another enjoyable episode in this series, which isn't afraid to do unpleasantly permanent things to ongoing characters. Intrigue, betrayal and backstabbing abound and our heroes have to be extra resourceful if they're going to save the world yet again.
