I'm going to quibble and tell you that your picture for damp is too damp. It would fit properly under 'sodden' and 'wet'! Damp is the back of my t-shirt after a workout! That is a muddy mess! :)
Alas, I know not! I found them both there "upon the cold hills side" as Tennyson puts it, just as pictured, as if they'd grown there or plomped down from the sky....
