Incidentally, when we were waiting at the hospital on Monday, Rob's mum and I were talking to one of the nurses and apparently one of the most common injuries they have to deal with at the hand unit is the aftermath of people trying to prise frozen beefburgers apart with a knife...

So please be careful of the beefburgers, folks!

Good lord, really?

Well, I shouldn't be surprised, I guess. I'm very safety-conscious, living alone as I do and without a car, but I can see where, tired, annoyed, and overtaxed, one might just forget safety when trying to get dinner. It's not as if I didn't add a fair few drops of blood to my recent remodeling project...

Apparently so yes ... I suspect it's not so much forgetting safety as just not giving it any thought. I think I might be a fair bit less safety conscious were it not that my late dad was an ambulance driver and so very aware of such things...
