The sun poked his head shyly around the clouds this morning, so we leapt nimbly into the van and zoomed off (for a value of zoom that involves observing the speed limit, anyway) to Foremark reservoir to see if there were Things To Be Photographed.

As we should have expected, as soon as we got the cameras out, the sun retreated back into the clouds. Once we'd got cold and fed up, discovered that inevitably, the tea shop was closed and resignedly piled back into the van to go home, it emerged again and shone cheerily on us all the way home. A more paranoid soul than I might begin to feel persecuted :-)

Anyway, I did manage to get one or two photos. I was particularly pleased with the shots of lichen (or possibly moss) on twigs.

Some of the people on my flist did a sort of daily picture thing last year. I'm going to try to do something similar this year, although I don't know if I'll be able to find something worth posting every day. That's part of the fun I suppose  :-)

Rob and I went walking at Foremark Reservoir again today. It's a lovely place, but there aren't many bits that would make a good photo - it's more an overall impression.

We did find some interesting fungi on our travels though.

I was fascinated by these, which were in a little line among the trees, as though they were marching along :-

Mushroom inside... )
If anyone reading this has a better grasp of fungus identifcation than I do (not difficult!) I'd be interested to hear about it :-)
