Most of yesterday was spent at the wedding of one of Rob's colleagues.
It was a lovely day and we had a good time. It's surprising how tiring it is sitting around eating and chatting though :-)
The church was very pretty and had some lovely carved stonework inside that I would have liked to get a closer look at. There was a vocal group who sang beautifully. The bride was even later than brides usually are, but she did turn up eventually, to everyone's relief, especially the groom's! And very beautiful she looked too.
The reception was at a lovely Elizabethan looking place called Thrumpton Hall which made a splendid backdrop for the photos, although the little bridesmaids were more interested in peering into the water in search of tadpoles than having their pictures taken :-)
There was a splendid classical quartet who started off seated in the conbventional manner but later started wandering around among the guests, playing all the while - and given that one of them was a cellist, this was no mean feat!
The meal was lovely too, especially the chocoate truffle dessert - yum!
The organisation was wonderful and I hope the bride's mother is now having a thoroughly well-deserved rest :-)
