The Silent Invaders by Robert Silverberg
Another classic SF book. This one had a very slight plot, involving two rival groups of aliens operating in disguise on Earth, and it seemed rather like a short story padded out to novel length. It didn't help that what little plot there was was mostly revealed in the back cover blurb nor that the morality espoused by the "good guys" seemed a touch dubious at times/
Not a bad book, but having read others by this author, I know he's capable of much better.
