We've just placed an order for a Solatube for our landing, which is rather dark. All the other houses of the same style as ours on our courtyard have a round window to let light into their staircases, but for some reason ours was built without one.

The Solatube is designed to reflect daylight into the house through a tube that goes through the attic and up through the roof. So some unfortunate person is going to be merrilly cutting a hole in our roof to fit the thing in January. Rather them than me!

I seem to have failed utterly to post anything but book reviews for ages again.

Thursday was a fun day which was mostly taken up by trying to persuade my iMac to work properly. It had a sulking fit after I rebooted it and would only present me with a blank white screen, which was rather worrying.  The thing that finally persuaded it to behave was disconnecting my iPod from it. Clearly they had been plotting against me, as, once separated, the iMac rebooted properly. I then installed Snow Leopard on it just because.

Friday was the last of my three blood pressure check appointments and good news - the nice nurse said my BP was well within the proper range "The Amlodipine is working!" she declared, whereupon I told her I was no longer taking that, only the Ramipril, which is even better.

Saturday was a pootling about doing not very much and watching the end of our two ebay auctions day. Rob went out cycling on Sunday and yesterday was again a pootly day, wherein I planted some anemones and iris bulbs ready for spring. We also watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Boredom part 1. Oh, OK, it wasn't that bad, but it seemed to go on for an awfully long time. At least they gave Hedwig a more heroic exit than in the book - I always thought it was deeply stupid to transport her in her cage.

Today I have a plethora of parcels to post. There might be some arriving too, including some new sensors for Baldrick the robot vacuum cleaner who seems to have gone daft again.

I seem to have bombarded you with pictures for a while and then gone quiet. Bah.

Rob had a day off on Friday and rode over to his parents' house, coming back on Saturday, and on Sunday still had the energy to go up the ladder in the back garden to clean the gutters. Contents thereof consisted mainly of leaves but also included an extremely rusty pair of pliers, presumably left behind by the chap who fitted our satellite dish a while back.

On Monday and Tuesday we had test-riding visitors. so I may not have been posting, but I haven't been idle :-)

Rob has acquired a new lens for his camera, for wide-angle shots and he took these pictures of the new flower bed with it :-

Things are growing! I may have to curtail the ambitions of the nasturtiums, which seem to want to Take Over The World, Pinky.
