I seem to have failed utterly to post anything but book reviews for ages again.

Thursday was a fun day which was mostly taken up by trying to persuade my iMac to work properly. It had a sulking fit after I rebooted it and would only present me with a blank white screen, which was rather worrying.  The thing that finally persuaded it to behave was disconnecting my iPod from it. Clearly they had been plotting against me, as, once separated, the iMac rebooted properly. I then installed Snow Leopard on it just because.

Friday was the last of my three blood pressure check appointments and good news - the nice nurse said my BP was well within the proper range "The Amlodipine is working!" she declared, whereupon I told her I was no longer taking that, only the Ramipril, which is even better.

Saturday was a pootling about doing not very much and watching the end of our two ebay auctions day. Rob went out cycling on Sunday and yesterday was again a pootly day, wherein I planted some anemones and iris bulbs ready for spring. We also watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Boredom part 1. Oh, OK, it wasn't that bad, but it seemed to go on for an awfully long time. At least they gave Hedwig a more heroic exit than in the book - I always thought it was deeply stupid to transport her in her cage.

Today I have a plethora of parcels to post. There might be some arriving too, including some new sensors for Baldrick the robot vacuum cleaner who seems to have gone daft again.

We spent this weekend at the York Cycle Show, in part to help out at the British Human Power Club stand and in part to catch up with people and see stuff :-). We arrived on Friday after taking three and a half hours over what's normally a two hour journey, the details of which I won't bore you with. WE got our tent put up and then toddled over to help build the BHPC Evil Gazebo, as pictured below. This involved a great many bits and, eventually, a great many people, but remarkably little swearing, which was a pleasant surprise :-)

So, back to the garden centre today for another try. It was decidedly less crowded than yesterday, although still fairly busy. They didn't have what I was looking for.  Not entirely unexpected really, given how little success Mum has had finding one in her part of the world, so i am not discouraged :-)

Meanwhile at home the internet has been going up and down like the underwear of a lady of negotiable virtue, but it seems to be an external problem - I called Talktalk and the unfortunate chap I spoke to said there were about 200 people in the phone queue at that point.. It seems to have sorted itself out now, touch wood [pats self on head].
