On Wednesday we'd been everywhere else (we visited Boscoreale on Tuesday afternoon, but although the museum there is very modern and nicely presented, the villa rustica there was closed to the public, so no pictures, alas), so we went for a last look round Pompeii.

More pictures! Is that even possible? :) )

Monday was the between-Artecards day, so we toddled down to Pompeii again and had another trundle around. The weather was a tad warmer, but windy and the grit blowing in our faces got bait unpleasant at times, but otherwise it was a good day.

This post will be a bit of a summary/overview of our holiday in Campania, with a Several of photos and will be followed by more detailed posts with even more photos for them as are interested in Ancient Romans. If this is not you, fair enough :) I'm also planning a post containing dogs, birds and a lizard, which may appeal :)

This post contains pictures of persons without their vests on, and a stylised penis, but it's Culture, so not really rude. Honest :)

Much wibbling and many pictures )

Back from holibobs and somewhat knackered.

Photos are uploading even as I type, but there are nearly 2000 of them, so it may take a while and try your collective patience before i post all the ones I think need to be shown to the world :)

In the meantime, if you're planning to go to Pompeii and/or Herculaneum, I urge you to make time to visit the Villa of Poppaea at Oplontis and the Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco at Stabiae as well.

Tomorrow we're getting up at Stupid O'Clock to head off to Birmingham Hairport wherefrom we're jetting off to Italy for a week.  We shall be having another look at the Roman ruins of Pompeii and environs, at greater leisure this time and with more photos. Rob lost most of his shots from last year in an iPhoto mishap, so he's particularly keen to get more this time.

So please keep the noise down and make sure to recycle the empties before we get back, OK ? And no hi-jinks with traffic cones or I shall give you all a Stern Look.
