It looks as if tomorrow will have to encompass a trip to the vet for Salem - he seems to have hurt his right back paw.  He's reluctant to put weight on it and it feels warm and a bit swollen. We've soaked it in warm salty water today (not something he was keen on, but no injuries resulted) which I hope will make it less painful for him, but I suspect it's time to break out the antibionics again, poor lad.

Oh dear, poor kitty. They do catch a lot of stuff outside, either bacteria or from fights. I hope it's nothing serious.

Thank you. I suspect he has had a Disagreement with another cat as he has little matted clumps of fur on his head too.

Hopefully it'll just be a course of Little Pink Pills to sort him out :)

The poor little chap. I hope he'll be all right.

Thank you. I think he's possibly been in a fight - there was a bit of blood on the paw and he has little clumps of matted fur on his head, as if he's been bitten there too - but with luck a visit to the vet will get him sorted. I suspect the future holds Little Pink Pills, which will be fun for all involved :)

I wish we lived in the next street to you. Watson is the only person I know who makes pilling a cat look easy. Her technique involves putting the cat in a coat sleeve and I think she then presses on each side of the jaw, drops the pill in and massages the throat. Like I say, it looks easy when *she* does it! Good luck and I hope you don't get bitten.

What a kind thought!

I've had to give Salem pills before though and while it's not something either he or I would choose to do for fun, he was quite good about it last time. No doubt he'll complain volubly on the way to see the vet, but I find that reassuring really, as it proves he's not so very ill :)

Poor puss! I hope the vet will sort his foot out, and he'll be back to his usual self soon.

Thank you. I daresay he'll protest all the way to the vet's but that's the way of cats :)
