Full Metal Wheelbarrow

Cat kindly brought in a live mouse this evening. Clearly my training as a Mighty Hunter is progressing because after an hour or so of it lurking under the kitchen shelving, Salem flushed it out and I was able to catch it and send it back out to play in the garden.

Salem's probably still doing the cat equivalent of facepalming at his stupid human who caught a mouse but didn't eat it....

I have been pretty busy this week, buying and building shelves and reorganising the spare bedroom and moving my desk in there. It's starting to look almost civilised in there, unlike my former office which is utterly full of junk and next in line for a major clearout :)

But I've managed to take a few photos here and there, so here are some rather rain-spattered pictures from the garden :-

 My cheese grater has mysteriously disappeared. I have hunted through all the kitchen cupboards to no avail - it is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, the cat has brought in at least two rodents today. (I say "at least:"  because there was a pile of rodent components on the back mat which may have belonged to more than one individual originally.)

A suspicious person, or a person whose cat had more than three brain cells, might start to wonder if these two events were in any way connected....

Woke up at about 4am this morning and heard an owl outside (quite close outside actually :-)).

From later research it appears to have been a Tawny Owl.

February is apparently the start of their breeding season, so there may be owlets later. Splendid.
